Merchandizing

DVDs

After a long wait and unlikely rumors, the show is and isn't being released on DVD.

Season 1 of Pete & Pete was released on DVD on May 17, 2005. TVShowsOnDVD.com announced the news; Amazon.com has a listing. Be forewarned that while the transfer is okay, "The Day of the Dot" has some very obvious and annoying video problems. Due to the delay of Season 3, don't expect these transfer problems to be fixed in a future release.

Season 2 was released on November 1, 2005. TVShowsOnDVD.com announced the news and gave details. Amzon.com lists it.

Season 3, however, seems to be in trouble. TVShowsOnDVD.com reports some strange retractions. For now, no official word has come out that the DVDs are canceled, but things don't look good! It's probably time to write Paramount some letters.

CDs

The theme song "Hey, Sandy" can be found on Television's Greatest Hits Volumn 7: Cable Ready which is available from TeeVee Toons. This is the tv version of "Hey, Sandy" which is thirty (sixty?) seconds long.

Polaris released an album called Music from the Adventures of Pete & Pete. "Hey, Sandy" is on this album in an extended form. The album also contains eleven other songs from the show. You can get this album from Amazon.com as well as just about any other on-line store. If you want to order it from your local store, the album was released on the Mezzotint label (ASIN: B00000IJ0P).

Videos

These videos are extremely hard to find now. Use the ISBN numbers to special order them from your local video store. See the list of other Web sites for petitions for rebroadcasting the show or releasing them on tape.

Pete and Pete Tapes

Collections

Nickelodeon has also released some videos that contain episodes of Clarissa Explains It All, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Roundhouse, and Ren n Stimpy plus some Pete & Pete super-short episodes.

The Pete & Pete shorts are listed here with an index to indicate where on the tape you can find them.

There is also a "Nickelodeon Friends Variety Pack" which comes free with blank video tapes. It contains previews for the "Classic Petes" and "School Dazed" videos as well as a considerably shortened version of "When Petes Collide".
